Bagged Minerals
Ensuring that livestock are provided with the correct minerals for their level of production is critical to maximising health and fertility and our popular range of bagged minerals are an ideal way of achieving this.
The HJ Lea Direct Mineral Range can be incorporated into TMR's/PMR's or fed free access straight from a trough. The newly improved range makes use of up to date research and compliments the policies we take in mineralising our conventional compound feeds.
The incorporation of Availa®Zn into our Dairy and Pre-Calver Minerals reflects its inclusion in all cattle diets produced at Aston Mill. In brief Availa®Zn has been shown to reduce Somatic Cell Counts, improve hoof strength and integrity, and result in higher milk yields. Bioplex Copper is also an integral part of these formulations as it has been show to improve the overall performance of high yielding cows. The inclusion of Selplex Selenium in the Supreme Dairy and Pre-Calver Minerals also allows for maximised productivity in high yielding dairy cows. Selenium can be easily stored in the cows body when provided as Selplex. This stored Selenium is then readily available for use by the cow during times of stress (peak production) or challenges to the immune system (i.e. mastitis).

Elite Dairy -
Formulated to meet the day to day mineral and vitamin requirements of modern lactating dairy cows. This specific formulation supports optimum health and fertility for the standard British dairy cow, and will adequately support peak production. Contains AvailaâZn and Bioplex Copper for improved overall performance.
Supreme Dairy - This mineral has specifically been designed to meet the requirements of very high yielding Holstein cows managed on a maximum production system. This is a very high specification mineral that has the potential to really boost health and fertility on any farm. With targeted levels of Biotin combined with AvailaâZn the benefits of reduced lameness will really show. Also contains Selplex Selenium and Bioplex Copper for maximised overall performance.
Elite Pre-Calver -
The dry period is not a time for nutrition to be neglected as it can have a significant impact on performance in the subsequent lactation. This is why our Pre-Calver Mineral is such a high specification. With a high level of Vitamin E and targeted amounts of AvailaâZn, Bioplex Copper and Selplex Selenium alongside recommended levels of all other minerals and vitamins you can rest assured that all requirements are met. The Mineral levels in this formulation are specifically designed to reduce the occurrence of milk fever, calving difficulties and health issues at the onset of lactation.
Cattle Hi-Mag -
Specifically formulated for use during spring and autumn when Staggers can be a real problem in grazing cattle. Correct levels of other vitamins and minerals are also present meaning that this mineral gives complete peace of mind.
Intensive Beef -
Particularly suited for adding to home mixes of straights to provide the correct minerals and vitamins for maximised growth in intensively finished beef cattle. As there is no added magnesium, this mineral is safe to feed to finishing bulls and steers.
Cattle Universal -
This is suitable for all types of growing cattle and adults. It contains a full range of vitamins and minerals for sustained health, performance and growth.
